Secular Humanism- The Religion of America

If you aren’t familiar with Secular Humanism you certainly need to be.  It is everywhere in America (and Europe) particularly in our schools and government and it is growing.  What is Secular Humanism? It is the religion that seeks to usurp the Judeo-Christian’s recognition of God-Christ as the Creator and center of life by placing man at the center and solution of everything.  Secular Humanism can be a mixed bag, but for the most part it is atheistic, naturalistic, soul-based and is contrary to traditional religious morals, ethics and absolutes.  It is an antonym of Judeo-Christianity.   It is very organized and is evolving, there now being a progression of three different Humanistic Manifestos written.  This infers an inconsistency of thought and belief.  HS has shown that it is against “traditional religion” and its absolutes and is intolerant of it.  John Dewey, an atheist, evolutionary, secular humanist, signatory of the first Humanist Manifesto and also known as the “father”/architect  of modern American education, said:
“There is no god and there is no soul. Hence, there is no need for the props of traditional religion. With dogma and creed excluded, then immutable truth is dead and buried. There is no room for fixed and natural law or permanent moral absolutes.”
Among many other views that Dewey had, he made clear that he did not believe children should think for themselves. He also “tipped his hand” in revealing his plan to make Socialists out of our children and make them a part of a collective society.  (Socialism/Communism are examples of a collective society).  Dewey also said:
“You can’t make Socialists out of individualists — children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming, where everyone is interdependent.”
Many parents, as they send their children off to school do so believing that they will be taught HOW to think.  Little do they realize that the agenda, as Dewey states, has been changed and the intent is to teach them WHAT to think…and that they do!  Something that he and his ilk have been very successful at accomplishing.
Make no mistake about it- Secular Humanism is the religion of the American public school system.  It is atheistic, evolutionary and hostile to Christianity and the Christian World View.  It is run by “Caesar” and If we give our children to “Caesar” we needn’t be surprised if they turn out to be Romans!
Parents need to be especially diligent and purposeful in their children’s education, after all we only get one chance to do it right!

THE APOSTASY and THE SECRET POWER OF LAWLESSNESS

This is the 4th article in my End Time series. The Apostle Paul wrote these words of scripture to the church in Thessalonica. “Concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered to him, we ask you, brothers and sisters, not to become easily unsettled or alarmed by the teaching allegedly from us—whether by a prophecy or by word of mouth or by letter—asserting that the day of the Lord has already come. Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” “Don’t you remember that when I was with you I used to tell you these things? And now you know what is holding him back, so that he may be revealed at the proper time. For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now

To Trick Or Treat Or Not

As new believers in Christ and young parents, my wife and I really struggled with Halloween and whether we would allow our kids to participate in it or not.   While growing up, Halloween was such an intriguing time of the year, with ghosts, witches, goblins, ghouls and all sorts of eerie stuff, how fun, since I was taught all these things weren’t real.   As I got older, and a little too old to roam about town looking for treats and tricks, I would help my parents hand out treats for the Trick or Treaters that came to our house.   It was fun putting candy into their bags, looking at all the clever and creative costumes, and trying to guess who was behind the masks.   Sometimes we would even recognize neighborhood kids who were way too old to be out Trick or Treating! I also have a memory of another side of our innocent candy collecting adventures.   It was when my friend Jack and I were invited in by a man with the promise of candy.   He kept stalling us and discouraged us from leav

Raising Kids, Manners, and The Golden Rule

So, what do Manners and The Golden Rule have to do with raising kids past and present? There really is a very important connection.  If we want to see children today grow into upstanding adults who do well in life, we really need to be diligent in teaching them manners and also The Golden Rule -- wouldn’t you agree?  Let’s first look at what is known as the Golden Rule. In Jesus’ teaching found in Matthew 7:12, “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”  Wouldn’t the world be a better place if everyone was aware of and practiced this in everything?  Well, it is not something that comes automatically to people, especially children!  So you might be wondering, how do we put this into practice?   Glad you asked.  Here’s how we can start.  Begin by teaching your children good manners-- yes, I said GOOD MANNERS. Why good manners?  Because good manners are really the essence of the Golden Rule, which is treating ot
